FAQs

How do you track my child’s progress?

We use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal, to track your child’s development and progress. Our staff regularly complete observations of children during their daily activities, capturing key learning moments, achievements, and next steps. These observations are linked to areas of learning and shared with parents through Tapestry, allowing you to stay involved in your child’s learning journey and celebrate their progress with us.

When can my child start at Northern Lights Pre-school?

From 9 months (subject to availability).

We do not provide lunch. Children attending full-time sessions will need to bring a packed lunch that complies with our Healthy Eating Policy. We do provide snacks during the day for an additional cost, or parents may choose to send a healthy snack in with their child.

Which sessions are available?

There are two sessions each day, Monday to Friday. The morning session is 9am to 12pm and the afternoon session is 12:25pm to 3:25pm. Full time session is 9am to 3pm. We also open for out of school hours: early start: 7:30am to 9:00am and after school club: 3:30pm to 6:00pm.

When can I put my child’s name on the waiting list?

As soon as you want to. It does help with our planning to know who may want to come in any future term and you are not committed to coming if your name is on the list, it just means you will be offered a place nearer the time. Just complete an application form and return it to the preschool and we will contact you nearer the time for your child to start.

Absolutely! Contact us to arrange a visit and meet our staff.
